What is an Occupational Therapist?
Unlike physical therapy, occupational therapy focuses specifically on hand, neck, and shoulder injuries and conditions that affect your ability to perform daily activities and work. Our therapists develop personalized treatment plans to help you regain independence and return to the activities that matter most to you.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring the following to your first appointment: both sides of your Medicare card, primary and supplemental insurance cards, photo ID, a valid medical referral or prescription from your doctor, prior authorization or treatment authorization from your insurance company if required, and your insurance member ID and group numbers.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.
What should I wear to my appointment?
If we are treating your feet you will not be asked to undress but if we are treating your spine, you will be so comfortable and modest underwear or even a pair of shorts is appropriate.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
Yes, a doctor’s referral is required for therapy treatments. Most health insurers require a doctor’s referral to authorize coverage, though some may only need a phone call. Please check with your insurance provider for their specific requirements.
Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors. Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your therapist communicates with your physician to help you achieve your therapy goals.
We sees and treats patient for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses. Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.
We accept Medicare, Medical, and PPO insurance plans. Authorization is required and must be obtained from Orange County Medical Group (OCMG) before beginning treatment. We recommend that you confirm your insurance coverage with your provider before your appointment.
